CHICAGO RAILROAD FAIR, 1948

Shot on 8mm, right there in 1948 -- and what a collection of vintage transportation hardware!

  1. Love the video. Reminds me of the future anticipated by Atlas Shrugged. "The future ain't what is used to be."

Commercial rail was eaten by the triple whammy of federal subsidy: Aircraft at the high end, and private cars with federal roads in the middle, and bus companies on federal roads at the low end. What is left appears to be kind of a museum.
